SILA West 52 Gold award - student category

This past weekend I learned that both of my entries were accepted for the Society of Illustrators of Los Angeles competition in the student category.  And crazy enough, they thought my piece, Drifting Memories, was deserving of a Gold Award, and I can barely contain myself!  After a short solo dance party, and then a night out with a few amazingly supportive friends, I do want to thank everyone who has followed, and supported my work so far!  You guys are amazing, you know who you are.

A site will be put up to feature all of those who were accepted, but in the mean time, winners in all categories can be found here: http://si-la.org/news/sila/illustration-west-52-judged/

My two accepted pieces, Drifting Memories (Gold Award) and Imagine:

Re-Opening of my Etsy Shop, Jori van der Linde Illustration

For a couple years now I've had an Etsy Shop, but never really used it.  Recently I've had some free time, and I've decided to properly photograph and document some of my work.  So have a look, buy something or favourite something! I'd love you for it!

Here is the Link : http://www.etsy.com/shop/jvanderlinde?ref=search_shop_redirect

And here are some of the illustration items you can purchase!

Lufthansa Passengers on Tour - Montreal, Canda Scene

Sooo excited to post detail shots of this job now!  Recently I worked with Plan-net Hamburg, on a promotion with 13 other illustrators from around the world, for Lufthansa Airlines.  Each illustrator drew a detailed and busy scene (called a Wimmelbilder, like where's Waldo) from the country where they are from, so I was Canada! The goal was to find a hidden passenger with a Lufthansa bag, in the detailed scene.

My scene was in the backwoods of Montreal, where a magical snowy landscape and frozen lake teem with winter activities. This was so fun, I'm so glad to have been a part of this promotion with some amazing illustrators!

And now the Details, where i went a little crazy with stitching on clothing and such...
